Must be FM's first trip outside the US! Prices are high due to the fact that the Bahamas support themselves on import duties. Obviously, most of the stuff you are interested in has to be imported. There is no income tax, thus the duty. I am surprised that you found these prices to be such a surprise. It's not hard to see why it has to be that way. Most of us think it is a small price though for what one gets in return. Steve
