Well, if you look at the size of the other countries you have visited, you will see that they have a much larger economy than Abaco, thus the lower prices. Most of the stuff is imported directly from the US to Abaco. No breaks on quantity as if there was a major distribution effort. Virtually nothing produced locally except fish and conch! Citizens of the Bahamas don't pay income tax so that might help somewhat. If you have any Bahamian friends, they will tell you that they probably agree with your assessement. It IS expensive, for everyone.
