Sounds like your planning for a great trip! The first time we visited Abaco we stayed in three different places. Since then, we have just stayed at one in Treasure Cay. Abaco is really great to explore. There are so many places to visit and things to do but also there are some world class places for doing nothing at all. With a month, surely you'll have time for both.
My suggestion would be to find a single place stay and visit other places either via watertaxi or rental boat(reserve early). Packing and unpacking and loading and unloading gets old, especially with small kids (ours are 12 and 8).
Check the Board for food suggestions. We take condiments, dry goods and meats and cook for ourselves mostly. Fruits and some vegetables we can usually get. This really cuts down on the bill. The best advise is take half as many clothes and twice as much money as you think and you'll have a great time.
