Everything was so beautiful again - can't understand why people are not clamouring back to our wonderful Abacos. Spent a day in Hopetown/Elbow. Hopetown is very clean and everyone busy with repairs and new building. The town beach took a beating but the community association is working with the govt for renourishment. The shoreline along the Sea of Abaco looks unscathed, also with alot of new building. Had some drinks at Abaco Inn and Sea Spray Marina. The new owners at Abaco Inn are doing an incredible job. The new pool is now next to the gazebo and will be finished very soon - definitely in time for Christmas the way it looks. Sea Spray Resort looked great also. Both were open for food and lodging it appeared. Although, it was a very weird feeling to sit at the Sea Spray bar and see the bar at the Abaco Inn. Walking down the White Sound road did not feel real. I am sure that I swallowed a few flies because my mouth just hung open the whole time. Only knowing Justin through this Board, it was heartbreaking to stand in front of his house and remembering that it was one of my favorites on that road. Looking across White Sound, the mangroves are full of pieces of everyone's house, boats and surprisingly, what appeared to be concrete cisterns. The force of that surge must have been an awesome strength.

Throughout the Cays the bugs have gone by the wayside - it was really windy. It was great to see the birds coming back and new growth everywhere. The natives are still so warm and wonderful. Saw a lady with a teeshirt that said "Too blessed to be stressed". That pretty much sums up the feeling of the people. They are just remarkable. If you believe in reincarnation, then you will get to be a Bahamian when you have almost reached perfection.

Anyone reading this who is scared off from the storms - GO! There are a few, very scars, from the storm that will be gone very soon. Abaco is just as beautiful as always, the waters are wonderful and most importantly, the people need our help and our dollars.
