Things aren't twice as much in the Bahamas as in Canada, they're probably more like 3 times as much...(depending on what Canadian currency is valued)...The Bahamian dollar and the US dollar are worth the same. However, almost all items have to be shipped in to the Bahamas from somewhere, and the Bahamas has a "tax on spending" which means there is no personal income tax, just taxes on everything you buy. Also, you may have to pay duty on some of the things you bring into the country. Check with the appropriate officials before making any commitments...you wouldn't want too many suprises making such a move! Good Luck!
