1) I've been advised to not check my baggage through all the way but to transfer my bags in West Palm Beach from Delta to Piedmont/USA EXP directly ourseleves. Is this good advise. We do have a 2.5 hour layover in west palm beach.

2) Also I keep reading about a 40 Lbs limit. Is this for checked baggage and does Piedmont/USA EXP have this limit.

Just wondering about the details as I approach departure.
