Took a while to get back into the swing of the things back here in the states but here is my report. Arrivied in Marsh Harbour 5/17 with 5 other good freinds. It was a boys fishing trip through 5/22. Picked up our provisions and picked up our 2 rental boats from Laysue. Gary was great, the Seacat boats aren't pretty but they are very stable and functional. I'd have to say there were days that the wind was blowin so hard we would not have been out there in a 21 foot mono hull. The fishing was OK... We caught 7 ot 8 Mahi to 30 lbs, a Mackarel, a small Yellow fin tuna (sushied him up) and a variety of reef fish. We fished a few days down by Cherokee sound and a few outside Tilloo cut. We stayed in a rental home called Grouper Therapy. Nice modern home very convieint to everything and it's own private dock. Cindy from Great Abaco Club couldn't do enough to make our stay better. Weather was great and other then one of the guys getting bit in the nipple by some snake like sucker fish over at Tahaiti beach no casualties. Needless to say we had some laughs on his account and we now call him Nipple Boy. All the guys loved the place so I am sure we will be back again. Maybe the fishing will be better next time. My wife flew in on the 22nd and the boys left. We stayed at home called Whimsey we rented from Elboy Cay property which is located right next to the cemetry on the high road just outside Hopetown. This was a great home.... It had a private boat dock on the Nigh (sp??) Creek and is situated on a bluff overlooking the best ocean beach on Elbow. Except for a visit from some ants the house was great !! Is was secluded enough yet close enough to town to walk and you didn't need a golf cart. Once again the property manager (I think her name was Megan) at Elbow Cay Properties could not do enough to make our stay better. Visited a ton of places with our Rental boat from Laysue. Cracker Peas and Yahooes on Lubbards, Treasure Cay, Green Turtle, Great Guana, the Sandy Cay underwater reef and Pete's Pub. My favorite spots were the beach at Treasure Cay (looks like the beach on that Corona commercial with the pager), Yahooes (still the best food and atmosphere) and the Pig Roast at Nippers on Sunday. It was fairly packed but everyone including us had a great time. We met some folks from Jacksonville at Nippers and got an invite back to their house boat for some after Nippers drinks. My wife saw a shark snorkeing at Sandy Cay. Had and under water camera and presence of mind to Kalick a photo. I have to say that there is no other place I have ever been that has a combination of things more to my liking. A relaxing atmosphere, natural beauty, Gin clear water, soft ocean breezes, seclusion if you want it. This is all topped off by warm freindly people (natives and vacationers) who go out of their way to make your aquaintance and your stay in Abaco the best vacation experience you can imagine. I will be back again and again and again...... Conchy Gerry
