Lisa, I would recommend you provision yourself. While having someone else do it for you may save time, my experience with having someone else do it has been that you end up with a lot of stuff you don't need/want (no one in my crew can even stomach the thought of a cantaloupe or honeydew melon after a BVI charter a few years ago!). In fact, when we chartered with Sail Abaco, when we inquired into their provisioning option, they gently steered us in the direction of doing it ourselves (rather than making a few easy bucks off us), and we're glad we did. We brought some meats and snack foods with us from the States, and got our own groceries. Almost everything we wanted was available at Golden Harvest, and while I didn't pay too close attention to the prices, I don't recall being shocked at the tab for 5 people. Along the way, we picked up fresh fish, that ambrosial Bahamiam bread, a key lime pie, etc. In terms of food, we ate better than we ever did on any outside-provisioned charter. We did ask Sail Abaco to provision our beverages, so we didn't have to lug cases of soda and Kalik, and were glad of that. E-mail me directly if you would like more info on how to do it yourself. Fair winds, Eva H.
