Splitting charter flights.

I am planning a trip to Marsh Harbour for Thanksgiving weekend and looking
into the possibility of splitting a charter flight from Ft. Lauderdale.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has done this in the past and
what their experiences were - how they handled the financial arrangements etc.
Also any experiences, good or bad, with any of the charter companies, especially
Air Flight, Twin Air, PFT or Bimini Island Airways.

For anyone who might be interested in doing this, I have determined that the
costs of the charter would be approximately $1300-$1500 round trip for the
plane, plus approximately $35 per person for U.S. arrival/departure taxes that
would normally be included in a scheduled fare. The "round trip" is really
two round trips, as the plane would normally be returning empty from Marsh
Harbour on the outbound trip and going out empty on the return trip. Those seats
can be also be filled at no additional expense. Therefore, for a six-seater
plane, the $1500 charter fee can optimally cover 24 seats. That would be
approximately $125 round trip, plus taxes.

There are four of us flying Thursday, Nov 25 (Thanksgiving Day), returning
Sunday Nov 28. Ideally we will depart Ft. Lauderdale at ~ 9 a.m., and
leave March Harbour at ~ 3 p.m. That would leave at least two outbound seats
(the plane are 6-9 seaters, weight limit ~1500 lbs), six seats returning to
Ft. Lauderdale on Thursday morning, six seats from Ft. Lauderdale to Marsh
Harbour on Sunday afternoon, and two seats returning to Ft. Lauderdale.

Anyone who might be interested in this please let me know. This is just in the
planning stage, I do have tentative reservations with Gulfstream but if I can
make this work I would rather do it this way.

Ed
