We used the Don't Rock passage, heading from Marsh Harbour to Green Turtle just last month, in a 44' trawler with a 42" draft (but we have a keel) Never got below 6' depth. BUT, conditions at Whale Cay were favorable for an outside crossing. I doubt you'd want to make the short cut in weather that isn't comfortable for an ourside passage as well.
