Since arriving on Tuesday the wind blew hard and now it was Thursday and it was still huffing a little but decreased noticably however we had to take a trip to Marsh Harbor to pick up another family member. We opted for the Albury Ferry so the ride for my brother in Law and his wife back to Hope Town would be enjoyable. The reason I bring up this excursion is they flew on Island Express which does seem to get some less than desirable press on the board a times. There flight was on time and enjoyable they did get bumped on the return overbooked flight but the were put on a Continental Airline flight that left 1/2 hour earlier so they got home with no real problem. We got them settled in at the Abaco Inn which they enjoyed but for the price they payed I was expecting more than a dinky little room with just enough room for the beds. I mention this because if it was me I would of had clostriphobia after one day. However the only slept there and spent much of their time at our rental. We went to YAHOES and it is without a doubt one of the high points of out trip. The food was great the host friendly and it rained while we ate but who cared. Thankyou to thier crew who made us feel very welcome. We then dove the near by on a couple of spots and did manage a little Tahiti Beach for a while. It got very cloudy so back to the hacienda. Saturday was a classic summer day we left for Man 0 War Cay, enjoyed it and of to Guana to Nippers. This is without a doubt another must on the list. There is a golf cart taxi availble to take you to the place if the walk is to much. It was beautiful, Great food, great beach, great people. Dont miss it. Monday some of us to a trip to Little Harbor down south and it was worth it. PETES PUB was with out the most unique place I saw. I kept waiting for some pirate to try to buy my sister or some smuggler to make me a deal. Neither of which I cared for but it was so unique. It definitley isnt in the Mobil Travel Guide but hell yes its was worth the trip just to people watch. By the way great hamburgers. While we were there i met a local fish guide, lobster fisherman, Who took us out for lobster. Yes it cost me $50.00. My brothers and sister were giving me grief about it but once we got out there and started to get some they started to smile and even helped me pay for the service. My adice to anyone who is having a hard time finding lobsters talk to a local, not every one will be as receptive as the one I found but it was worth the money. We got 6 nice ones. Teusday was our last full day in Abaco it was a sad day in a way we didnt want to leave but who does? but it was not without it excitment. We were snorkling near Little Harbor with some of our new found knowledge of looking for lobsters and while accending from about 15 feet of water I hit the boarding ladder on the back of the boat splitting my head open. I knew it was bad when i ran my finger through my hair and I felt a hole in my head. I calmly threw my big lobster in the boat and got out of the water with blood all over the place. My brother (Chief Tom) is a great paramedic gave me his prognosis that I needed stitches bad. We left for Marsh Harbor and took a taxi to a clinic run by Dr. Elaine Lundy. Get this I was in and out in 35 min. 1/2 dozen stitches later it cost us $105.00 THATS IT!!! I couldnt of gotten out of the local emergency room here in Florida for under at least a thousand bucks and 2-3 hours. THANKYOU DR. Lundy and her accociate DR. from Nassau. What a good experiance it was considering the situation. Wednesday at 12:30 our pilot from Amelia Air was there to pick us up on time where he took care of us again getting us out of customs and on our way home. I would like to say it was a most memorable trip thanks to alot of wonderfull people and also to the people of this board who share their love for such a special place that we all enjoy. Thankyou all and thankyou to the WEBMASTER and his people for a neat web page, some place to hide for a few minutes a day till we get back to Abaco.............. John B Linda B Chief Tom Abaco Paul
