I've been a long-time "lurker" on this board, and have decided to break my silence and ask for some help. My wife and I have visited Abaco numerous times over the last 10 years and we've finally decided to buy some land and build a cottage. We would use it a few weeks a year, let friends and family use it, and rent it out the rest of the time. We bought a small piece of land on Guana, but now we are having second thoughts. Not about Guana, but about a cottage altogether. We're starting to wonder if we wouldn't be better off buying a boat large enough to live-aboard. Considering you generally need to rent a boat anyways, and that there is so much to see and do around the various cays, why not just stay aboard the boat and take it around. This way we could spend every night of our vacation in a different location, not have to worry about getting back to the cottage by dark, etc. So my questions to the board are: What do you think would be better for enjoying The Abacos, a boat or a cottage? Would you want to rent a live-aboard a power boat to tour around the area? Thanks for any and all responses, and for all the advice in general shared on this board. -Greg
