You may have noticed under What's New that the Great Abaco Club website has been redone. You may say that this is nothing unusual. But with few exceptions the web pages here have been either done by the oii.net staff, the owners themselves, or people away from Abaco.
What makes me a bit proud of this is that the design and execution here is done by an Abaco resident, Charlotte Wells (a.k.a Charlottes' Web) who is begining her own business here as an indepent graphics and web designer. The internet is creating opportunities here on Abaco and I expect Abaco to take advantage of them. You'll see lots more work from Charlotte's Web and others.
A considerable group of us are doing things we didn't dream we'd be doing 2-3 years ago. Ian Sands and Michelle Weech in the Marsh Harbour office, even Robert Malone has come to wield a pretty mean Mouse, and there's Dexter Russell, our summer intern, who can set you up an internet connection in the blink of an eye and send you surfing and emailing away. Malcolm, Shawn and I now know technical things we never knew didn't know.
The use of the internet here is exploding and I'm pleased that we are a part of it. -- S
