Seahorse's privateers are on the way out-they did not hold up
to rental use-not reccomended.

Lay-Sue Motors in poor running condition,
high sided twin hulls very susceptible to wind, non-functioning gas gauge, heavy as hell, SLOW, and
get bad gas mileage to boot. They are smoother in rough water, but that may be
due to massive weight and slow running speeds. These boats are
hard to moor at some cottages. NOT RECCOMENDED.

The following comments apply to most if not all the rentals. The Boston Whalers
are an older design that is heavy and will give a wet pounding ride, but
are the SAFEST choice by far. Equipped with a 150 around 20' would be my choice for 2 people and
a 21 or 22' for 3 people and/or some kids.

If you have a moderate amount of ocean/bay boating experince the
Hydra-Sports, Alburys, and Paramounts would be suitable.

Some problems encountered with all the rental companies is
poor anchors, not long enough anchor lines, no depth finders, not
enough dock lines under high wind/storm conditions, props
in poor repair,etc,etc.

In summary go with a whaler; it'll be more gas, but safety
has it's costs. For cottages on Lubber's/Elbow and that area
Seahorse has a location advantage as well as a shop in Hopetown
in case of trouble.
