Greetings, Yes indeed, the writer (also) considered the appropriateness of her request. It's a judgement call!
Abaco is my home, therefore, my first concerns are not about personal loss but
the fact that our school, which is run on a shoe string budget by a hardworking
international staff at the best of times, is now damaged and some of my students
and their famalies are sleeping in the classrooms tonight.
You have your role and I have mine. What I can do is back in the classroom
and within the community on a one-to-one basis. And yes, you are right:
the Arts are an excellent media for Celebration, Self-Exploration/Expression. Our needs appear great, at this time, and the waters of Abaco are still Sacred. Again, my sincere best wishes to all those wo/men organizing the Relief Program. Cavelle
