Un-Don We Now Our Gay Apparel: Workers at Half Moon Cay, near Cat Island, were somewhat taken by surprise when the regular Holland-America cruise ship came in with an irregular set of passengers. The cruise was for 1,200 male and female gay people and it is claimed that there were "scenes from Sodom and Gomorragh", with open sex and nudity. The workers took the stand that they did not want to serve such people and it is proposed to bring in temporary workers for the next gay cruise visit. There are, of course, no homosexuals in The Bahamas.

Bahamian Football Player Dies: Florida State University linebacker Devaughn Darling died 26th February following a fitness work-out. It was reported that Darling had complained of chest pains shortly before his death. His twin brother, wide receiver Devard Darling, is also a Seminole team member. Head Coach Bobby Bowden said the two brothers had been expected to play key roles in future years at Tallahassee. An older brother, Dennis Darling, is an Olympic 400m athlete.

Internet Providers Merge: Two Bahamian companies have merged their Internet subsidiaries. Systems Resource Group's Bahamas On-Line and Tribune Radio's Tribune Satellite and100JAMZ Internet service will provide exciting new opportunities to the Bahamian public and international business using satellite transmissions, according to SRG's Paul Hutton-Ashkenny and Tribune Radio's Stephen Haughey.

Chandra Wins! When you get the Golden Girls together, Chandra Sturrup looks likes the baby of the group with her cherubic face and diminutive stature. But she now has what no other of the Golden Girls has - a top class individual gold medal. She won it in Lisbon at the World Indoor Championships at the 60 metre sprint, beating out the competition in a personal best of 7.05 seconds. Abaco's Sevatheda Fynes came 4th, just missing a medal. Chandra had aimed at the title, while Sevatheda came into the World Championships with little build up and still did well. Chandra set herself a high goal and came through. Look for more success from the Golden Girls.
