MARILYN
IRR
Don't skip a heartbeat - this isn't an obituary! In fact it's quite
the opposite. Marilyn Irr has a high tide rising in her life. She has recently
completed a mystery novel set in a place that most Abaco lovers will recognise
as a reasonable facsimile of Green Turtle Cay in the 1920's. It will be
required reading for all who know and love both Marilyn and Abaco.
But there's even better news. Marilyn said she'd never marry again but
along came Bob Sanborn out of San Diego and Marilyn is now engaged. Bob
must be quite a fellow! No date has been set yet and Marilyn has a few
enjoyable commitments in the near future including supporting her son-in-law
as he tackles the Boston Marathon in April and a cruise with friends in
May.
Marilyn says she has ordered her wedding ring from Sand Dollar Shop Shoppe
of Green Turtle Cay and it will follow the dolphin theme she has already
established.
For those who don't know Marilyn, it was she who started Treasure Times
as a community news sheet long ago. Under Bill Durrell the Treasure Times
became the Abaco Journal and expanded its horizons. When some old timers
say they wish things had stayed the same, they echo a fundamental wistfulness
with which we empathise. But Marilyn often writes to say she loves the
Abaco Journal as it is now, so we really can't offer any apologies.
Keep us up to date with your exciting doings, Marilyn. And remember, Treasure
Cay is the ideal place for a honeymoon! This Issue Table
