ATLANTIS CHIT-CHAT
by Jean Buchanan
Last month I said Atlantis had got off to a late start. Now we are here in the middle
of March and things are really busy.
Happily, Bob and Gerry Giles arrived and Bob started immediately to fertilize his
plants. When Jim and Joanna Friedrich arrive, Jim always hangs up his hammock, but
this year I have yet to see him having a siesta in it. Ann Woodson just arrived and
Rick will be joining her real soon. Their first grandson, Harrison Woodson, recently arrived
in the world.
Building #2 residents are Len and Jan Scheponick. Jan was the first one in our newly
refurbished pool and she was joined shortly thereafter by Joanne. They made lots
of happy splashes. Jean and Phil Read and Irma and Richard Prince are still here,
and I can't blame them - it's mighty cold where they come from.
Building #3 still has Sally and Phil in residence along with Raymond Pearlson. They
were just joined by Maureen Baldus - lovely to have you back, Maureen!
David and I are still here in Building #4. We are eagerly awaiting daughter Kimberly
with Jim and the twins, David and Jared. It is going to be quite a change for these
four year olds coming from Vermont to the Abacos. My David just celebrated one of
the big birthdays!
Linda and Tom Gisenbraun spent ten days and were reluctant to return to Ohio. Linda
and Ira Friedman are also in residence enjoying our beautiful beach and warm sunshine.
It's mighty cold in New Jersey. Karl Conrad is expected to arrive soon as he has
a work agenda for his condo. Christal will be joining him real soon and hopefully Karl
will have the work finished.
Building #5 is quite well occupied. Elspeth and Renzo are still here and Elspeth's
herb garden looks great. Jackie Rusby has returned to Canada while Keith Remaine
is here. Jackie is a well known international dog show judge. She will be participate
in the International Dog Show in Mexico City where they will have 17,000 entries. Sharon
and Ron Heinzeroth remain with us. Ron got in some super fishing recently. Helga
and Franz Denz are here also, enjoying the sun and biking. It's easier doing it here
than on the autobahns of Germany!
Our star attraction this month is Doris Chappell, who is here with her niece Jennifer,
It is wonderful to have Doris with us again and - yes - we have had great tiki parties
to celebrate. We hope to see more of our Atlantis friends joining us soon. Haste
ye back for fun in the sun!
