GOLDEN HARVEST

Plans for the rebuilding of Golden Harvest are under way. Abaco's largest supermarket burned down over a year ago and it is intended that Bethell Estates, who own Yamaha Park, will buy the Golden Harvest land from Abaco Markets Ltd and build the new supermarket. It will then be rented to Abaco Markets Ltd.

The new Golden Harvest will be substantially larger, 22,400 square feet compared to the previous 15,300 square feet, and will have mezzanine storage on the second floor.

To provide the public with superior service in the year it will take to build the new supermarket, Solomon's (Abaco) will be refitted and provide butcher and fresh produce service in addition to the retail goods they now carry. It is hoped that the changes will be made by mid September. When Golden Harvest comes on line Solomon's will revert to wholesale and household commodities.

Talks are under way between Treasure Cay Ltd and Abaco Markets Ltd for the restructuring of the shopping centre in Treasure Cay. It is hoped that the new facility will allow the Mini Mart to increase its floor area. At the same time the Mini Mart will be completely refurbished with new equipment.
