CATTLE DANGER
Shortly before midnight on 7th July Devin Pinder was driving south from Marsh Harbour at a less than half moon to light the way outside of headlights when he hit two black heifers which ran out in front of his truck. It was like hitting two pianos, 25 year old Pinder said. His truck hit the two cows in quick succession and veered off the road. The cows were killed instantly but fortunately Pinder suffered only bruising.
This is at least the third time that cattle have been hit by vehicles in the area. ASP Clarence Russell said that the herd was constrained by electric fences but these were ineffective when there were outages. He was emphatic that action would be taken against the owner of the cattle. I cannot, as Commanding Officer, allow somebody to endanger the lives of innocent people.
