Consider Your Forefathers:
Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly and Chairman of the Broadcasting Corporation
of The Bahamas, Mr Mike Smith, told the 51 graduating students of Abaco Central Secondary
School on 23rd June to remember that they come from strong stock. The people of Abaco, he said, overcame great difficulties with few resources yet were extraordinarily
productive. If they could achieve so much with so little, it places a great responsibility
on the shoulders of the present generation to do even better. Mr Smith told the graduates that success lay in their own hands. Their quality of life and degree
of success would be determined by the choices they made along the way. The commencement
exercises were held at the new Abaco Central Primary School. Head Boy Nicholas Albury
was the Valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA.
Be Honest and Ethical:
CIBC Marsh Harbour Manager Derrick Benjamin was the main speaker at the S C Bootle
graduation exercises held on 24th June at the Church of God Cathedral in Coopers
Town. Mr Benjamin urged the graduating students to be honest and ethical people.
Head Boy Kenneth Strachan was the Valedictorian.
