TREASURE CAY INTERNATIONAL BILLFISH TOURNAMENT

Treasure Cay Hotel resort & Marina will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Treasure Cay International Billfish Tournament at the annual event, 22nd-27th June 2003. A qualifier for the IGFA’s International Tournament of Champions, this modified release tournament offers four days of fishing, social parties, dinners, fun competitions, golf tournament, volleyball tournament and a Bahamian arts and crafts fair on the lay day. Multiple awards are given for billfish. There are also awards for tuna, dolphin and wahoo.

Registration, which includes boat entry, four dinners and three cocktail parties for up to six team members, team goody bag with T-shirts and hats, room discounts and a donation to the IGFA, is $1,700 per team.

“We are pleased this tournament has become widely recognised as one of the best family-oriented events in The Bahamas,” commented Lynn JUne, marketing director. “We expect to have a phenomenal event for our 20th anniversary and anticipate raising unprecedented funds for the IGFA Junior Angler programme as well as for students at the Treasure Cay Primary School.

The TCIBT is renowned for its great food and camaraderie, with social events families can enjoy. An average of 275 anglers attend each tournament from many states in the USA as well as from foreign countries.
