PASSINGS...
ALICE LOUISE DARVILLE
Funeral services for Alice Darville, 77, were held 6th November at St Martin's Anglican
Church, Sandy Point. Officiating was Rev Hugh Chapman and interment followed in Sandy
Point Public Cemetery.
Mrs Darville was survived by four sons, Lincoln, Nelson, Kenneth and Henry; one daughter,
Lena Burrows; dear friends, John and Linda Doak; one sister, Francis Colay of Georgia;
two brothers, George Taylor of Georgia and Laslie Johnson of Nassau; thirty-five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Miss Alice was loved by all who knew her. Her sunshine smiles and positive but humble
ways will be remembered by everybody in Sandy Point and far beyond. Heaven is a happier
place now.
PEARL ANNIE DAMES
Funeral services for Pearl Annie Dames, 49, were held at Marsh Harbour Church of Christ
on 20th November. Officiating was Dr William H Miller assisted by Br Franklyn Simmons.
Interment was in Marsh Harbour Public Cemetery.
Left to cherish her memories are one son, Shannon; two daughters, Melena Scott and
Leitheria Dames; one grandson, Devante Scott; three sisters, Lilla Strachan, Bernice
Brown and Estelle McIntosh; four brothers, Clifford, Stanford, Curtis Adderley and
Wayne Cornish; and a host of other relatives and friends throughout Abaco.
Visitors to Island Breezes where Pearl worked for the past five years will fondly
remember her cheerfulness, friendliness and willingness to assist them at all times.
