ABACO YOUTH EXCELS IN FREEPORT

Condell Delancy of Spring City left Abaco a little over a year ago to attend Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy in Freeport. A keen sportsman and basketball player, young Condell thought his chances for furtherment would be better in Freeport. So far, so good, for Condell was the Freeport News Student Athlete of the Week in mid January.

In addition to being a star basketball player, 16-year-old Condell is maintaining a 3.3 GPA at school and, according to principal Norris Bain, "...Condell has a tremendous attitude and is the kind of young man you don't mind being around because of his attitude. I think his mother deserves a lot of credit for the way she has brought up her son."

Condell's mother is Ronalee Ferguson of Spring City. Condell says: "I owe it all to my mother and my grandparents (Bob and Velma Ferguson) who taught me that before I do anything or go anywhere, pray first. And that manners and respect will carry me through the world. So I keep those words dear and in my heart."
