WASN'T THAT A PARTY!
When it came to Millennium parties, none beat Hope Town's. The community and guests
had a wonderful time and the partying was fast and furious. A sail from Hope Town's
regatta boat Abaco Rage
was signed by all and a specially-constructed dance floor saw heavy action. Towards
midnight a winning prayer from a competition was delivered and there was lots of
hugging and kissing at the stroke of 12. Shortly after midnight the Hope Town Volunteer
Fire Department, under the leadership of Fire Chief Stafford Patterson, put on a 25 minute
firework display that was longer than some of the biggest cities in the world were
able to present. A Junkanoo parade followed and the revelries went on to the late
hours of the morning.
