WINTER WEATHER
Those visitors who spent the Christmas season on Abaco were rewarded with wonderful
weather from a week before Christmas Day until well into the new year. Daytime temperatures
were in the mid 80's and the evenings were pleasantly cool. Very little rainfall was recorded and there were no thunderstorms, so all planned activities could go
ahead.
Things changed on 14th January, the 4-month anniversary of Hurricane Floyd, when a
cold front came in with strong winds and brought temperatures down to the 50's. The
disturbance only lasted for a couple of days but served to remind us how fortunate
we are weather-wise most days of the year.
