ABACO TOURIST OFFICE UPDATE

On 13th November both Don Cornish and Wynsome Ferguson of the Abaco Tourist Office attended the monthly cocktail reception of the Royal Marsh Harbour Yacht Club. The Club had a concern with respect to the licensing requirements for boaters wishing to enter The Bahamas. Commodore of the Yacht Club, Don Vanbeck, was not sure of the amount required to be paid by boaters and expressed concern that the fee may have some effect in reduced visitors to the Abacos. Mr Cornish advised them that the matter had already been looked into and that a report of the findings would be given to the Club.
FBO (Fixed Base Operation) out of Florida visited Abaco 16th-17th November on a familiarisation trip. They visited Treasure Cay, Green Turtle Cay and Man-O-War and also had the opportunity to experience fishing and diving in the Abacos. They were escorted by Greg Rolle of BTO Miami and Earl Miller of Bahamas Out Islands Promotion Board.
