GOOMBAY SUMMER FESTIVAL 2000
That truly Bahamian celebration, Goombay Summer Festival, will enliven Friday nights
on Abaco throughout the summer of 2000. This year's events are being held at the
Green Turtle Ferry Dock at Treasure Cay on July 14th and 28th, and August 11th and
25th, starting at 7 pm.
For those unfamiliar with Goombay, it is a party occasion when visitors and natives
get together to experience local cultural performances and native foods and drinks
served by vendors. Music, dancing, limbo and much more can be enjoyed at the Goombay
Summer Festival.
