SHIPPING COMPANIES JOIN FORCES
Marsh Harbour Shipping Company Ltd and Tropical Shipping Company of Riviera Beach,
Florida, have joined forces in serving the shipping needs of Abaco. Marsh Harbour
Shipping is dedicated to providing excellent service for its Abaco customers and
feels the joint venture will assist in this.
The MV Margarita I
will join the Tropical fleet of 16 vessels and will continue to service Abaco weekly.
Marsh Harbour Shipping will continue to manage, own and control all the Abaco customer
services as agent for the new alliance and will now be known as the Marsh Harbour
Line. This will allow the Marsh Harbour management to focus totally on providing Abaco
customers with dependable service. Tropical Shipping will manage the vessel and freight
equipment. There will be no major change in the US as the Marsh Harbour Line will
still retain the services of Heavy Lift at the Port of Palm Beach.
The change will allow the shipping company to offer new services and can adjust to
the shipping needs of Abaco more rapidly. Shipping is vital to the economy of Abaco
and this service will allow more flexible service adapting to the special needs of
the island. Eventually they will provide more roll-on roll-off services.
Tropical Shipping Company is a very large company based at the Port of Palm Beach
and ships extensively throughout the Caribbean. They have equipment of all types
and they have the capacity for international shipping to the Far East or Europe.
