REUBEN ALEXANDER DEAN

Funeral services for Reuben Dean, 80, were held on 17th May at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Sandy Point. Officiating were Rev Napoleon Roberts and Rev Carrington Pinder. Interment was in Sandy Point Public Cemetery.

Mr Dean was the 'Pete' of Pete & Gaye's Guest House beside Sandy Point's main dock. He and his wife Glacie ran the popular guest house and restaurant for many years with the assistance of their adopted son, Stanley White.

Mr Dean is survived by his wife, Glacie; sons Stanley White, Cyril Dean and Audric Dean; daughter, Prescola Penn; one brother, Capt Earnest Dean; 28 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.

LAURIN LARU EDWARDS

Funeral services were held for Laurin Larù Edwards, 17, at St Andrew's Methodist Church, Dundas Town, on 23rd May. Officiating were Rev Carla Culmer and Rev Charles Carey. Interment was in the Public Cemetery, Dundas Town.

Laurin was a Grade 11 student at Abaco Central Secondary School and had previously been a student at Wesley College. He was an exceptional athlete and a very popular young man who had many friends. His untimely death following a motor scooter accident has saddened the whole Central Abaco community. Memorial services had been held previous to the funeral at his school and Aldersgate Methodist Church, Marsh Harbour.

Left to grieve are his mother, Geneva Strachan; father, Arnold Edwards; sisters Judy, Cyprianna, Wanda, Lamanda, Indira and Vangilee; brothers Keith, Advardo, Ricardo and Dino; and many other relatives and friends.
