TREASURE CAY PASSINGS

BOB BIRDSONG

Another of our friends and neighbors has just passed away.

Bob Birdsong, beloved husband of Shirley Birdsong, died at the age of 78 due to a long-time heart problem and, more recently, cancer.

A quiet and unassuming man, Bob was always willing to give of his time and efforts to help his fellow man. His financial assistance also was always a great help to this community.

Bob travelled extensively around the world in the course of his life and became a very successful businessman.

While in Treasure Cay he played a great deal of golf and was a serious bonefisherman, one of his favourite hobbies.

Bob will be greatly missed by his wife and family and by his many friends in Treasure Cay.Our thoughts are with Shirley and the family at this sad time.

EDWINA SANGER

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Edwina Sanger, last night, May 8, following a heart valve replacement. She was 92. She is survived by four of her six children.

Edwina will always be remembered for her generosity and her joy in living. Despite many setbacks in her life, she was a strong and determined person who loved people and liked to entertain. She was an interesting and understanding person and was an inspiration to all of her many friends in Treasure Cay.

This past winter found her here on the island again, availing herself of the library and swinging her clubs out on the golf course. Up until two years ago she also was an avid tennis player and played both golf and tennis in the same day. She was a person of tremendous energy.

Edwina was the daughter-in-law of Margaret Sanger, the famous pioneer in the field of birth control for women.
