MOORES ISLAND LOBSTERS REPEAT AS CHAMPIONS

The Abaco Basketball Championship series went to a bruising 6 games before last year's champions the Moores Island Lobsters took out the Sandy Point Royals 4 games to 2.

The Lobsters represented Abaco at the Bahamas Basketball Federation National Tournament. The team was leading in their last game before the championship series with 36 seconds to go. The ball was stolen from Dwayne 'The Train' Adderley and the Suns out of Freeport went ahead and then held off the Lobsters in an exciting finale.

8th May, Coopers Town Park
MAN-O-WAR KILLER BEES 11 WALTER McINTOSH CONSTRUCTION 10
The Construction scored 6 runs in the second to take a 6-1 lead, then scored 3 more in the third for a 9-3 lead. The Killer Bees responded in the top of the fifth by scoring 5 runs. With the score at 10-10 going into the top of the seventh, the Killer Bees scored the all important run and then held off the Construction to get the win. William Weatherford was the winning pitcher. Andrew Albury went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 triples and 4 RBIs.

9th May, Cooper Town Park
MGM MAC RAIDERS 13 TWIN CITY GENERALS 0
The Mac Raiders jumped to an early lead on 2 run homers by Michael Baillou and Kent Sawyer to take a 5 runs lead. They added 7 more in the third and another in the fourth to beat the Generals in five innings. The winning pitcher was Frederick Cornish. Michael Baillou went 2 for 2 with one home run and 3 RBIs.
WALTER McINTOSH CONSTRUCTION 17 PAPA NASTY EARTHMOVERS 2
The feature game was equally one-sided with the Construction crushing the Earthmovers in 3 innings. The winning pitcher was Darron Lightbourne.
