ATLANTIS CHIT-CHAT
by Jean Buchanan

Atlantis got off to a rather late season this year. Building #1 has no occupants at present but word has it that Jerry and Bob Giles will be arriving shortly. Hopefully they will; they have been in our prayers. Anne and Rick Woodson are not coming until their first grandchild arrives.

Building #2 is doing rather well. Len and Jan Scheponick are here and Jan looks wonderful. Jean and Phil Read arrived recently. Irma and Richard Prince are also here. Pat Bell is also in Building #2, however we understand she will be leaving for Canada soon. We pray for her recovery and hope she can return soon to our wonderful warm weather.

Phil and Sally Cappello are in Building #3. Phil always manages to get in his fishing and Sally is kept busy playing tennis and bridge. Raymond is our permanent resident; he sure loves to fish and rarely misses a good boating day. Marge just arrived for our special Tiki Party. Our guest of honour is Velma Conger. Jerry and Annie Mansback, previous owners, very kindly flew their plane to Fort Myers and brought Velma and her granddaughter, Heather, for the weekend.

Brigitte Aebersold is in residence in Building #4 and is certainly happy to be in the warm weather. She is waiting for the birth of her first grandchild and I'm sure she is knitting lots of little things for the baby. David and I are the only other residents and have enjoyed some good fishing and boating days. Barbara Farnan caught a 65 lb rockfish from Skymaster's Toy.

Renzo and Elsbeth Simon arrived from Switzerland and were really happy to be here. Keith and Jackie Rusby are also here enjoying the sun. Jackie is also knitting her annual TC special sweater. Ron and Sharon Heinzeroth are also in residence. They make quite a few trips yearly to Treasure Cay. David and I used to do the same but now we make only three trips a year and stay much longer.

All our docks are in good shape and our major project is the re-surfacing of the pool. We had quite an Atlantis work force in the pool, chipping the old surface.

Next month we are looking forward to a visit from Doris Chappell and that will surely call for another Tiki Party!

On the sad part, one of our previous owners passed away last year. Lavon Kiddoo was always such a happy gal. Our sympathy goes out to Elden.

We hope to see more of our residents returning to enjoy the boating and fishing. We miss you. Haste ye back for fun in the sun!
