TREASURE CAY GOLF CLUB NEWS

The Treasure cay Golf Club hosted the 4th Annual Royal & Sun Alliance Golf Tournament on 6th February. Excellent weather and a good turnout of 72 golfers resulted in another great event. Daron Roberts and Ginny Sawyer, co-owners of Abaco Insurance Agency, along with Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company, were the sponsors. All expenses for the lunch, dinner and prizes were paid for by the sponsors so that all proceeds went to the club. The Treasure Cay Golf Club raises about $40,000 each year for the sole purpose of assisting Treasure Cay Ltd in maintenance and improvement of the golf course.

2nd Flight Low Gross - Kathy McAllister
Low Net - Irma Price

Closest to the pin: Kathy McAllister

Men's 1st Flight: Low Gross - Ron Heinzeroth
Low Net - Bill Regan & Egon Schnabel

3rd Flight Low Gross - Mel Gray

Longest Drive: David Johnstone
Closest to the Pin: Charlie Momm

Carrying on a tradition begun 4 years ago a modified skins game, invented by Andy Colson, was held along with the tournament which was followed by a shoot-out among the skins game winners. The shoot-out involved a 50 yard chip shot towards the pin with the four closest contestants advancing to the next stage, which was a sand trap shot with the closest two advancing to the final test of a long putt. Sylvia Lister won the ladies' event and Ron Heinzeroth took the men's prize. A cocktail party preceded the awards presentation in the early evening followed by an excellent buffet dinner at the Spinnaker Restaurant.

The next tournament will be the 4th Annual Manager's Tournament, sponsored by Mr Jos Konsten and Treasure Cay Ltd, which will be held on 20th March.
