OCEAN VILLA UPDATE

The past several months have seen a lot of sprucing up of common and privately owned property at Ocean Villas. A pergola covered with lovely bougainvillea vines now stands at the west side of the pool and a new bahia is on the east side. New plantings are flourishing, all thanks to the efforts of Beautification Chairman Anne Duchelle and her committee. Homeowners had a clean-up day in January resulting in the clearing away of truckloads of branches, brush and rubbish.

Also thriving at Ocean Villas is the active social scene. Nightly cocktail hour gatherings at the beach side deck, several cocktail and dinner parties, and an international party have taken place. The fourth international party with a haggis ceremony, complete with kilted Scotsmen, was a major success. Residents were treated to a bagpipe performance and a lovely vocal serenade. The evening ended with everyone feasting on a variety of specialty pot luck recipes, including an on-site preparation of conch salad.
