ABACO WEATHER
It looks as though we will get
through the hurricane season unscathed but that does not mean the weather has
been benign. As much as ten inches of rain fell on 29th September and in
Treasure Cay there was damage to canal seawalls due to pressure from waterlogged
land.
After the water there was close to gale force wind for more than a
week. The wind probably contributed to the death of a seaman in North Abaco (see
Radio Abaco News). There was considerable fruit drop and some uncomfortable
rides on ferry boats.
