CHARLES LEWIS
Funeral services for Charles "Unca Cess" Lewis, 82, were held at St Andrew's Baptist
Church, Fire Road, on 31st July. Officiating was Rev Eulin McIntosh assisted by Samuel
McIntosh. Interment was in Fire Road Public Cemetery.
"Unca Cess" was a much-loved Abaconian who described himself as a jack of all trades.
He was a fisherman, carpenter, mason, builder, taxi driver and bus service owner
during his long life.
Mr Lewis is survived by his wife, Ethilee; one son, Charles; seven daughters, Chriscola
Rolle, Leeanna Thompson, Selva Symonette, Lillian, Pearl, Costella and Brendalee
Lewis; 30 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and
close friends.
LYDIA SABRINA PINDER
Funeral services for Lydia Sabrina Pinder, 39, were held at Mount Zion Baptist Church,
Sandy Point, on 14th August. Officiating was Rev Napoleon Roberts. Interment was
in Sandy Point Public Cemetery.
Sabrina Pinder was the daughter of Samuel Lightbourne and the late Ellen McKinney.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Pinder; her father; three sons, Curtis, Ricardo
and Donavan; four daughters, Cindy Russell, Candice, Lydia and Donnette; two granddaughters, Whitley Russell and Tyisha Pinder; five sisters, Lula Burrows, Lorene Burrows,
Dolly Russell, Keisha Lightbourne and Jane Bain; seven brothers, Richard, Ivan, Robert,
Basil and Alexander McKinney, Arthur Lightbourne and Stephen Lightbourne; and a host of other relatives and friends.
LEONARD LIGHTBOURN
Funeral services for Leonard Lightbourn, 75, of Sandy Point were held on 21st August
at St George's Anglican Church, Nassau. Officiating was Archdeacon Cornell Moss,
assisted by Fr Hugh Chapman, Fr Patrick Johnson and Fr Delano Archer. Interment was
at Woodlawn Gardens.
Mr Lightbourn is survived by his wife, Carnetta; eight children, Bruce, Remorn, Leonard
Jr, Beverly Culmer, Charlotte Lightbourn, Frances Henfield, Edith Edgecombe and Denise
Strachan; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends in Grand Bahama, Nassau and Abaco.
