TREASURE CAY NAMED BEST GOLF COURSE IN THE BAHAMAS

No tee time and year-round beautiful weather are just two of the reasons to golf at Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina. Golf Digest has just added another reason, naming Treasure Cay the number one golf course in The Bahamas. This was Golf Digest's inaugural ranking of golf courses in 100 different countries.

Designed by legendary course architect Dick Wilson, the Treasure Cay Golf Course is the only 18-hole championship course located at a hotel resort in the Bahamas Out Islands. The uncrowded 72 par, 6,985 yard course offers a palm tree-lined, tropically landscaped layout with 66 strategically placed bunkers and three water hazards, as well as challenging, narrow fairways.

Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina has invested heavily in making the golf course a premier attraction. Significant improvements have been made to the greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, irrigation system, and to pest and weed control management.

"We are thrilled to have achieved this ranking," said Ludwig Meister, Chairman of Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina. "Our staff worked extremely hard on the physical look of the course and Golf Digest's top ranking validates our effort and investment in the course."

Green fees for hotel and marina guests range from $60 for 18 holes to $40 for nine holes. Golf rental carts are $30 and $20 for 18 holes and nine holes respectively.

Through 17th December 1999, golfers can enjoy a standard hotel room stay for three nights at $290 per person; a five-night stay for $473; and a seven-night stay for $656. Rates are quoted per person based on double occupancy. Suite and villa upgrades are available for an additional fee. Rates include accommodation, room taxes and gratuities, unlimited golf, a shared cart, taxi transfers, and a welcome drink.

From 18th December 1999 through 25th April 2000, golfers can enjoy the same amenities for slightly higher rates. A three-night standard hotel room stay is $371 per person based on double occupancy; a five-night stay is $608; and a seven-night stay is $844.

Treasure Cay is one of the most comprehensive Bahamas Out Island resorts highlighted by a magnificent, powdery-white sandy three and one-half mile beach, referred to by National Geographic as one of the top ten in the world. Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina features 96 harbourside hotel accommodations, including newly-renovated deluxe rooms and suites. For those seeking luxury accommodations, the Resort offers seven fully-equipped two-bedroom beachfront villas straddled by a freshwater pool lagoon. In addition to the golf experience, guests will also enjoy the Resort's restaurant, lounge and outdoor patio bar which overlooks the 150-slip marina, boat rentals, tennis, fishing, snorkeling, diving and shopping.
